Meet the Squirrelers
The Squirrelers is a country folk string band that came together when Eddie Loomis (guitarist for The Smokin' Section Band, bassist for Velvet Foot), Tony Capetillo (Velvet Foot, E.T. Pickins) and Hayden Huffman (The Smokin’ Section, Bomb Shelter Band, Velvet Foot) met Ben Meinhold (bassist for The Floorwalkers) at book club! Naturally, we got to talking about all the classic country, rock, folk, and blues songs we all had squirreled away, and so a new group was born. The Squirrelers bring a unique sort of family friendly freak folk, humor, and string band sensibility to songs about heartbreak, wild apple trees, and woodland critters all while sharing duties on guitar, bass, kazoo, and vocal harmonies.
